About Genesee Health System

Genesee Health System is a not for profit mental health authority providing services to Genesee County, MI. We originally started as Genesee County Community Mental Health in 1963 and mainly provided mental health services to persons with the most severe needs. As the needs in Genesee County expanded, so did our vision. In December of 2012 we became Genesee Health System to reflect an expanded commitment to the health and wellness of the whole person.

In May of 2021, we supported the passage of a Mental Health Millage. The millage solidifies our commitment to provide the supports and services our unique community needs that would not otherwise be available. We thank you for entrusting Genesee Health System to serve Genesee County as we embark on the next leg of our journey to provide continued hope and health in our community.
